BSNL, the public sector telecom major, has declared that it has included 12 Lakh new users in the previous week. Out of this enormous figure, 4 Lakh users were grabbed via MNP (Mobile Number Portability) and due to the “Welcome Offer.”

BSNL rolled out a “Welcome Offer” for new prepaid users for its mobile services. This offer comprises advantages such as unlimited calling and free data benefits. “BSNL is providing 1 GB free data for new prepaid users below its mobile services”, the company claimed on its official website.

Clarifying the data and calling benefit below the scheme, BSNL claimed: “Promotional Welcome scheme of free 351 MB data in other Zones (to be employed in initial 30 Days) and 1 GB data (to be employed within initial 15 Days) and limitless calls for initial 7 days in East zone for each new user comparing MNP customers is the reason behind this achievement.”

“Plans, wherein 351 MB (SZ/NZ/WZ) or less than 1 GB (East zone) free data is being offered, shall be provided as additional giveaways in the above offer to make the total giveaway equal to 351 MB (SZ/NZ/WZ) or 1 GB (East zone) data. On the other hand, if any plan provides free data over 351 MB (SZ/NZ/WZ) or1 GB (East zone), they will carry on to relieve the same benefit without any alteration,” BSNL claimed.

This achievement also comes at a time when recently BSNL declared that it has taken off some of its prepaid offers that comprise the data STV (Special Tariff Vouchers) as well as combo STV. The offers taken down also contain the lately revised prepaid data offer of Rs 821. The telecom provider verified that it has taken off 7 prepaid offers all over various telecom circles. The list of plans that the firm has halted comprise STV offers worth Rs 629, Rs 398, Rs 821, Rs 2,399, and Rs 1,949, in addition to the prepaid combo STVs worth Rs 1,402 and Rs 3,099.
