If a new report is to be trusted, WhatsApp Web is receiving a shuffled GIF search tool. Though the capability to include GIFs existed on the desktop client of WhatsApp since some time, it has been now marked in progress in a new place, right alongside the emoticon button situated on the message tab’s left.
Earlier, the GIF button was positioned on the emoticon menu’s end. The report also proposes that apart from the existing functions, the GIF category shortcuts will be included soon to the search tool. Finally, upcoming Stickers of WhatsApp are also supposedly making their path to WhatsApp Web in the prospect.
The WABetaInfo people assert to have marked the shuffled GIF search button on the WhatsApp Web. For now, the report proposes that the tool will enable users to find GIFs using Giphy or Tenor. Nevertheless, future upgrades will add new quick GIF groups. For the moment, the moved GIF button has yet to be launched for subscribers and is being developed for a forthcoming upgrade, notes the report.
To utilize WhatsApp Web with your account, launch web.whatsapp.com on a PC browser. Head to the WhatsApp application on your device and tap on the 3-dotted menu positioned at the top right. Choose WhatsApp Web from here and scan the QR code that is displayed on the PC browser. Remarkably, WhatsApp Web is merely a client and doesn’t function as a separate application. For example, it will stop functioning if the connected phone isn’t linked to the Internet.
In another report by Wall Street Journal, in a drive to monetize its 1.3 billion subscribers globally, WhatsApp will begin displaying ads in Status from the coming year. Additionally, Facebook is seeking to utilize WhatsApp Business as a key revenue resource and the firm could launch new sorts of ads for subscribers to connect directly to firms for customer-service queries.
