According to the reports, the tech giant Facebook, led by Mark Zuckerberg, is currently focusing on many different things in different areas, and one of the things is basically an application which the company thinks could win the attention of the teens back to Facebook. This app that is being built by Facebook is said to be a standalone product, in a way. In this app, the users can not only record themselves, but can also share the videos on it, while lip syncing to some popular dialogues or songs from a movie or a TV show, as per the information that was obtained by some of the employees of Facebook.
This app which is expected to be launched by the company soon is said to be launched with a strong intention to compete the popular app Musically, which was a strong hit with many teens across the world. This app which later became a 60 million monthly user product was eventually acquired by ByteDance, a Chinese company, for a whooping amount of nearly $1 billion, and it has now been rolled into another app of the company named TikTok.
According to some reports, the company Facebook has not abruptly taken the decision to enter this space of teen music app, but it has rather been investigating the same since the past couple of years and it seems that the company has finally found something strong to go forward with. Back in 2016, the company Facebook had also started a research, mainly to look into the music apps including Musically. Now that the company is finally coming up with something to compete with the same, it would be very interesting to see how things turn up for Facebook, which has lost the popularity by a significant margin in the recent past, and has been trying to catch up ever since.
